The Atuu Festival of Arts, also known as ‘AFA’ will be birthed with a grand launch on 19th August, 2017 in the national capital of Accra. It has taken long and meticulous planning for its organizers to finally decide to let it out.
The festival is a kaleidoscope of the colourful cultural experiences of Ghanaians showcased in a total array of artistic expositions. Ghanaian artistes would welcome to our country their counterparts from across the globe and in cohesion tell their various stories in music, film, books, paintings, sculpture, drama and any art form imaginable. Over five days, artistes and visitors would be treated to a memorable period of excitement, splendor, spectacle, innovation and creativity as he/she would never have experienced.
Owned and executed by rights holders, it is the first of its kind. It is a rights holders’ festival. The festival would be a common platform for both renowned and up and coming talents.
Atuu is a national word in Ghana used by the Ghanaian when he is happy to see a visitor. We open our arms wide and flapping it joyously exclaim, ‘Awaa awaa Atuu’. It is adopted to interpret the universally acclaimed Ghanaian hospitality.
